How do I adopt a dog from CAMO Rescue?

If you're looking to adopt a dog from CAMO Rescue, the first thing you should do is check out our adoptable dogs! We have a large amount of dogs available for adoption, you can look through our adoptable dogs list above, or by navigating to our PetFinder profile. Be sure to read the dogs' bios to ensure that the dog you're considering is right for you. Once you've selected the dog(s) that you're interested in, it's time to submit an adoption application. This application will go over general information regarding your previous pets, your living situation, and your vet information.

Where do the dogs come from?

The dogs that we rescue come from a large variety of situations. They are rescued from the streets, shelters (especially dogs on euthanasia lists), abuse, neglect, and some are surrendered by their owners. We vaccinate, microchip, provide medical services, spay/neuter, and house all of the dogs that we rescue. Some of our dogs are graciously fostered by our network of dog fosters.

What is the adoption process like?

When you are approved to adopt, a meet & greet will be scheduled for you (and your family) to come to the facility or the meet the foster to meet the dog(s) that you're considering. This meeting will give you more insight on whether or not you would like to continue the adoption process. If you are certain that you would like to adopt the dog(s) you are meeting, then you will be sent an adoption checkout on your mobile device to complete your adoption. Once the checkout is complete, you take your dog home! Every adoptable dog is fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered/spayed. (If they are able/of age. If not, then a spay/neuter contract is required).

How much is the adoption fee?

Adoption fees vary depending on a variety of things such as age, health, and temperament. The fee can be found in each dog's bio. You may ask your adoption coordinator about adoption fees whenever they contact you in regards to your application.
